Tanya Goldman (Shurp)
May 28 ,1923 - May 9, 1997

Tanya was born to the Shurp family (Abraham Shurp and Dina Volber in the city of Odessa in Ukraine. The shurp family origin is from city near Bialystock).
During the WW2 (1941) The family escaped from the German troops, thru the black sea to the city of Tashkent in Uzbekistan , A Place where In 1946 she graduated her M.D. from the University of Tashkent.
In October 5, 1945 she married Yehoshua ("sasha") Goldman. In the beginning of 1946 they moved to poland. In 1947 they came to France, to A port near Marseilles, where in April 14, 1947, On the deck of a small ship Theodore Herzl , they tried to sail to Israel as illegal immigrants, along with 2,639 more refugees on the deck. The ship was intercepted by the British (Isreal was under British Mandate) and held in camps in Cyprus.
When they came to Israel, Tanya served as military physician in the army during the War of Independence (1948) until 1950.
During the period 1951 - 1956 She worked a physician in "Assaf Harofe" Medical Center where she got her pediatric training.
From 1957 until her last day, Tanya worked with Kupat Holim Klalit - the biggest Healthcare Insurance provider In Israel. At first she worked as a pediatrician in a various places in the area of Petach Tiqwa county and later as a medical county deputy manager. After she retired she continued to work part time as a child development physician until her sudden death.

Tanya liked to travel, play Bridge and was devoted to her family. Tanya is buried In Holon cemetery next to her husband.
Tanya left two sons: Micky, Danny and six grandchildren: Elad, Dikla, Shay Golan, Yuval, Amir, Noa Goldman.
