2007-2008 Calendar Dates
Open House Wednesday August 29th 6:00-8:00pm AND Thursday August 30st 6:00-8:00pm
Semester I - Tuesday September 4th - Saturday January 12th
Semester II - Monday January 14th - Saturday May 17th
Feet First Performance - Sunday May 18th and Monday May 19th *Additional rehearsals may be scheduled during the final four weeks of classes. Expect after school through evening rehearsals the week prior to the performance Monday May 12th-Friday16th.
Special presentations for the 3, 4 and 5 year old classes will be held at the studio. Dates and times to be announced.
No Classes
Monday September 3rd (Labor Day)*
Wednesday October 31st (Halloween)*
Thursday November 22nd (Thanksgiving)*
Tuesday December 18th - Tuesday January 1st (Winter Break)
Thursday March 20th - Wednesday March 26th (Spring Break)
*Make-up classes for Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving will be announced. All other missed classes due to holidays are accounted for in the schedule.
Classroom Policies
Classes will begin and end on time. Arrive at least 10 minutes before class to warm up.
Hair must be neatly pulled back. No oversized t-shirts or sweatshirts.
Dancers should bring water bottles to class.
No gum chewing or eating during class will be permitted.
Children are NOT permitted to wait outside the building for parent pickup.
In case of inclement weather, students should call the studio and listen to the recording regarding cancellation of classes. Students will not receive a phone call from their teacher. The studio phone number is 610-933-2688.
Each teacher will announce a designated observation day during the first semester.
Students must be in attendance for every class during the last six weeks of the second semester or they will jeopardize their opportunity to perform in May.
Any person transporting the child to Feet First (including family member or babysitter) should be aware of all Feet First policies and scheduling adjustments.
Dress Code
Dancewear, ballet slippers, dance sneakers, jazz and tap shoes can be purchased from the studio. Information and order forms are available in the studio lobby. Please note: Dance shoes should not be worn outside of the studio (For example, to and from the car!)
Girls/Women
Ballet: Tights and leotards in neutral ballet shades such as pink, white and black; pink ballet slippers, pink pointe shoes (if applicable).
Creative Movement, Modern and Improvisation: Unitards or leotards/tights. Bare feet.
Jazz: Comfortable dancewear; black jazz shoes for Vintage/Classical; black dance sneakers for Jazz Funk
Tap: Unitards or leotards/tights. Black tap shoes.
Boys/Men
Tights, sweatpants or shorts, t-shirts and appropriate shoes.
