HUMC We Believe...THE BIBLE- The Bible, both the Old Testament and New Testament, is divinely inspired and is God's Holy Word. God's love story and redemption for all is revealed through the pages of Holy Scripture. 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:19-21
JESUS IS GOD- Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, who died to forgive us of all our sin, and take us to live eternally in heaven. By His own claim, Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Colossians 1:15-23, Philippians 2:5-11, John 21:25
REDEMPTION- All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved, being redeemed through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and forgiven of our sins as we confess and believe. John 3:16, Acts 4:12, 1 John 1:9
WORSHIP- We believe God is worthy of all praise, reverence, and love. It is a goal to worship God with all that is within us at home, at work, at school, and at play. John 15:5, Ephesians 4:15, Romans 8:29
GROWTH- It si our goal to KNOW CHRIST and to become conformed to His image more and more through His Word, prayer, fellowship and yielding our lives to the Holy Spirit. Colossians 3:16, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, John 4:23
SERVICE- Christian service is the response to God's gifts of grace and love and the responsibility of all believers. Our goal is to develop the ministry of every member to the benefit of all. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7, Ephesians 4:11-13
LIFESTYLE- A Christian life engages in a biblical worldview with conformity of behaviors and attitudes that reflects the character of Jesus Christ. We will live in generosity knowing that God is our source and provider as we tithe and trust in God's faithfulness and promise. We will measure our time and abilities to enable the work of ministry
