Dear Ted! It's been a long time since we did the puppets together when your wife was having a baby- remember? I'm going to have to get hold of your music cos it sounds great. I'm living in Italy and writing and drawing comics and painting and trying to survive. I'd love to see you again or at least get in touch. Aways a big fan and LOVED doing the puppets!

Hello Ted, as an admirer of your music for many years now,I had the pleasure of being told by a good friend of mine, that you are going to play a concert in Berlin - "Ausland" - on march 21st. As i am a resident of the city of Saarbrücken,on the French border,it would take me a 500 miles flight in order to attend your Berlin concert. So I should be glad,if you confirmed the exact date. Looking forward & yours truly Hajo

Dear Ted..Please,please can you help solve a problem of memory loss for me? I know I saw Blurt some time in the early or maybe as late as mid 80s.. I remember that much.. and can still see it in memory flashes enough to know it was you.. ..but cannot place where.. First choice: Did you play a club called 8BC in New York in spring 1985?.. or (descending in order) maybe did you ever play Bracknell Jazz Festival.. sometime say 80-86? Or did you tour UK supporting a major/semi major UK 'pop/indie act between 1979 and 85 or so? Its so bloody annoying not to remember where! ta very much anyway.. at least I remember it being remarkable.. well, enough for me to jump up from my chair a few mins ago and look you up 25 years later, at least.

Mister Milton, I call you Mister because for me you are a real free genius. You take the freedom to express yourself in your own way and it is really deep and rich. It means that you are what you are. Not white not black but just human. Big kisses from Catherine, a little fan in the indian ocean. Catherine. REUNION ISLAND

Hi1 Ted, have a little present for you, it is a small "homekitchen" recording. But it is a long time gone now. In november 1999 you and loopspool were in the Loita Bar, Kassel, germany. It was a nice event and I am happy today that I was with my friend Bodi Amol at your concert. Yes we were very happy! I sold two records from you at that place. The next days I listen only your music. In my small room I had a small drumkit & different percussion instruments installed. Sorry about my poor english writing, please. I listened to your loopspool record `sublime´ and wanted play on the percussion. I did it and I had fun. So I installed microphones to a taperecorder and recorded my "audiuell" sessions with you. Later I sended the signals throuh a small TEAC portable studio I got secondhand very cheap. I am not a musician. I can´t play really the drums, I have no contact to artists and bands. Later i will tell you more if you want. I think you can enjoy these homekitchen sounds. I have played all without sticks, because my neighbours. Maybe you will find something by listening. Bevor you can get my present on C90 cassette I need your postal adress. Greetings from Kassel Oliver Kliem Holländische Strasse 41 34127 Kassel Germany Tel.: 0173 2831983 (Germany)

Dear Ted Milton! I´ve wrote to you for two weeks about your concert in Lolita Bar, Kassel. It was in 2000. I bought there two records from you (pity us / sublime) and days later I created overdubs from your album ´sublime´. I want to send you these recordings now!!! Please be so kindly and send me your postal adress. You will have fun a lot with >l´alpiniste< & >suck the night< ! The other songs I overdubbed too with percussion & drums (<fragments> 3x , >The Room< 5x and all the others at one time), all only played with my fingers, no sticks on drums, hihat and cymbals were used. I think, you should listen these recordings. They are not so bad ? Greetings to you from Kassel

Dear Mr.Ted Milton, Kassel, 12/9th/2008 I am a little bit sad, really, you can believe it. I am waiting for an answer from you! But perhaps you don´t have anything of interest, I think. This would be a great disappointment for me. Untill today I thought, your music and my additional percussion & drum parts would wake up a little bit curiosity at least. But apparent it is nothing exist from that by you. I can´t believe that! What has become of it? On purpose to make you much more curiosity, i tell you something more about my overdubs and the art of working. I start with your songs: (Ted Milton and loopspool - sublime) First the song: >suck on the night< : The song Suck on the night with additional drums for example, should resambles a slowly trip on a roundabout, for pleasure. You don´t want to listen this version of your song really? Let´s go to l´alpiniste, another nice example: >l´alpiniste< : This fantastic peace of synthesizer sounds and speech is so "unconventional", that I can´t the right words to discribe. (I´m german and cannot really write in the english way) But my hands and feet found a way to enrich these sounds from you. (Don´t they?) The song >You have seen the light< : I played to this beatyful song a free blus theme with emotional timbre, a warm floated play of fingertipps on drums & cymbals. You will find an atmosphere you exactly know already, I´m sure. >Don´t let love pass you away< : The best song, Don´t let love pass you by,(my favorite)of your album sublime: Here I tried to play like in a livesession. I saw in my imagination, or I imagined a stage: You stood at this imaged stage and I was there too, on that stage. In front of the stage some guests were waiting for the beginning. I had to play (or may play) the drums, because your own drummer for that event was become ill. So i had to improvise totally. I didn´t knew the song before. Listen to it. It connects slow anarcho punk elements with beginner-drumming. >C´est la faute< : I tried to play drums like a frenchman who likes micro & drum and bass. (in 2000 many people listen to drum and bass and easy listening) > I´ve stolen all of your beeing < : This is the only one recording i´ve found. I can´t remember if I have made more recordings. It is an improvisation like all thes overdubs I´ve made. I hope I didn´t deface your music! If you find it is defaced by me, throw it away, and I have to say sorry!!! > The Room < : This song from you I like very much: The theme ´Room´ allowed to go in. Somewhere like a room to find something. Maybe I found myself or lost it in these rooms you have opened. I took my drumset and went in these several rooms. I felt completly alone in these several rooms I went in. So I made some different experiences and so they sound. One of them I want to dedicate to the people whose had been killed at 9/11/2001. I imagine today one room of the twin towers by listening the ´room version´: one of that big house. You too? (I made all these recordings at Nov./Dec. 2000, months before the attempt in New York.) > The Room < : (under water) At this recording my feelings went to the turtle of my daughter. I tried to feel like someone who lives under water. So I used some different water-percussion instruments. > fragments < : In fragments I combinated drums and conga/octoban at the same time. Playing without sticks was invitable here. There are three versions of > fragments <. The version of fragments titled ´straight ahead´ means a spontaneous playing in totally confidence to do the right/in the right way. Also I did it in ´The Room´ version titled >well temeratured/tempered< Anohther version of this peace fragments discribes an imagination of african people in their village, dancing a ceremony. It´s the african version. This I wanted to tell you about the songs I had manipulated. I hope I didn´t defaced them! My works don´t want to be perfect. They are not perfect, but not so bad that you have to close your ears suddenly. They want to be funny, maybe they are funny a bit and loving or affectional. I gave all my feelings into them by playing, that´s a fact. Also ther are some faults in my playing. I know that but it´s music, I can promise you. You´ll see. Technical details: By playing tom toms, snare, hihat, cymbals and also a second bassdrum by hands and fingertipps the instruments sound warm and soft. Especially the cymbals sound are soft by touching. All instruments were playing by hands without sticks. Only by the water intruments I used sticks. Some of the cymbals hung on lines from ceiling. This gives the best cymbal sound, because there is no vibration and distotion from a cymbalstand. Try it! The recordings were made with two microphones (sennheiser, kossheadphones) and a simple stereo tape deck. with plug in´s for microphones. Later I sent the recorded signals through a Tascam/Teac Portastudio. I used the mixer only (Parametric equalizer) Two channels were needed. Than I sent this signals mixed up to another stereo tape deck. The signals from your sublime album I took from vinyl, I bought in Lolita Bar, layed it down on a Linn Basik recordplayer which was amplified by a Nait 2. The speakers were standing in beetween the drumkit and the microphones. This arrangement was standing in my livingroom (3x6), may homekitchen. So I have to close this writing: If you want to answer me you had to set this sign: _ between my christianname and my surname at mail address. Thanks a lot. This is the third and last petition to you. I hope really you´re NOT SUBLIME about my askings for your post address for sending creative works about your album sublime to you. This would be a bad wit, don´t be??? Wish you well! Bye bye Ted
