This is a Half Life 2 map set in the Star Trek universe, based on the first Warp 5 star ship Enterprise. This is my first serious attempt at
making a map/mod so wish me luck, I'm not trying to get it 100% right, just as long as it has the general feel of the ship then my job will be done.
Currently I only have plans to make the Enterprise map, with custom textures etc, no custom models, weapons or charters (as yet) are planned.
Here is the different sections of the ship that I plan to make and the order I plan to do them in, starting small, then going bigger:-

Beta Map: Out Now Captains Ready Room: 95% complete
Crewe Quarters: 95% complete
Corridors: 80% complete
Turbo Lifts & Transporters: 95% complete
Briefing Room: 80% complete
Armoury: 80% complete
Cargo Bays: 60% complete
Launch/Shuttle Bay: 95% complete
Decon: 85% complete
Engineering: 85% complete
The Bridge: 85% complete
Sickbay: 60% complete
Messhall: 05% complete
Captains Quarters, Brig, Jeffery
Tubes, Catwalk and other areas of the ship I currently haven't decided
weather to do them or not. Chairs & Torpedoes, and other various items
on the ship I have not yet decided how best to make them so they may be
left last (apart from the Captains Chair, as you cant have a bridge
without a place for the captain). Textures will be improved towards the
end of the project.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:
Q: Is this going to be a full mod?
A: Maybe, at the moment all I can promise is a map of about 80% of the Nx01 ship, textured out etc, it may not be 100% accurate and textures may not be amazing, I’m going more for a feel like the ship approach.
Q: So what’s the point of it then?
A: I want to be able to walk around the ship freely, and I would love to see a mod develop from it, my map and textures will all be released freely to any one to use in there own mod, or to improve, change or what ever they like, all I ask for is a small credit (maybe in the read me file) and to be notified by email that they plan to use my mod in there map, and what their thoughts where on the map, that’s it.
Q: What will I require?
A: A full copy of Half Life 2, if your system can run this, then it will run the mod/map. To take full advantage you will also need SourceSDK package or just Hammer v4 or above.
Q: When is this map/mod due for release?
A: The complete project will be released September, even if the mod is not complete all files will be relased. Early beta/test version will be relased sooner, like the BetaMap.
Q: How advance is this map/mod going to be?
A: Being my first major map I learning a lot as I go, but I plan to at least to have working sliding doors. Other things I will look into are animated screen displays, working turbo lifts, adding ship sounds and effects, etc, and eventually maybe turning it into a full working mod.
Q: Can I use any of these files in my own mod?
A: Yes you can, if you just email me letting me know, and maybe some credit then that's fine, this is an open source project once release I don't really care what happens with the files if some can find some use for these files then thats a bounce for me.
