THE LATEST NEWS
2/2/2008 Nine years already?
Scary that another year goes by, and its scary to see that not much has changed since my last update, Amiga & Hyperion are still in court, there is still no new hardware, the only good news last year was the release of the OS4 for the Classic PPC equiped Amiga. But more needs to done, Amiga seems to be locked into thinking AmigaAnywhere is still the way to go and Hyperion can only hope to get the rights to port and further develop the OS onto other platforms. I can only hope that one day Amiga will be back, but the way the company are messing around with it nothing is going happen. Any way hope to report more next year. Later

2/26/2007 Another Year, Another Update
Well its been online for 8 years now, amazing how the time flys. I’m still an Amiga follower and like you I’m still waiting. AmigaOS 4.0 is finally complete and there is room for optimism that new hardware is just a few months down the road, maybe this is the year then? But I do feel even if it is, it might be just too late, there is so little activity on the Amiga these days its a grate shame that so many companies have let this great machine slip though there figures, not truly realising what it is they have. I have now used a Apple OS X and Windows Vista both are great OS, have lots of nice effects, but they both seem restricted in what you can do, both are difficult to learn where things are kept in the core files and each have there annoying function you can do anything about, no other OS or machine have I had more fun on than my old Amiga, which is why I’m still holding out hope that one day it may return. On another note I’ve recently bought some web space, so some time over the next few months I will be moving and hosting AmigaNG over there and maybe do some updates to the site. The site is www.vincentperkins.com So until then or next year. Cya

1/24/2006 7 Years Running
On February the 1st this site will have been online for 7 years, its goal was to cover the furture of the Amiga. It’s a shame but where still not there yet, I'm still following Amiga I'm glad to see it still going and I can only hope one day we will see a new Amiga until next year.

5/22/2005 Cya Around
After weeks of trying to make time to do an update to AmigaNG, I have failed to deliver the final straw came when Tripod closed my old AmigaNG site, this hosted many of the pictures and larger files of the site that my current service from Brinkster can't store. I may ba able to upload most of the pictures to this site when I find time. I will try and make sure that the site remains online. I am sorry to any visitors and supports of my site. I am still an active Amiga user and Fan and will continue to support the Amiga, I will help out when I can on other web site or if I do find time on my hands restart this site, thank you for all your support over the years it been fun. The best site to get AmigaNG info from now is intuitionbase.com they provide a lot of information on the AmigaONE and OS. For now all I want to say is thanks and cya around.

3/21/2005 More Updates
Kmos has finally updated the Amiga web site and given more details on there future plans for the Amiga, visit the new site at www.amiga.com . Kmos has official changed its name to Amiga Inc and have release details on AmigaAnywhere 1.5, I will update the AmigaDE/Anywhere section shortly. That’s not all a new AmigaOS4 video has come out that demonstrate some of the capabilities of the new OS. And finally Hyperion have release a new firmware update for AmigaONE owners, more details can be found at www.amigaworld.net/

2/28/2005 UPDATES
For the last year AmigaNG has been getting few and few updates, this is mainly due to fact that I have had less and less free time, for that I’m sorry, from now on I plan at least one update to AmigaNG per month, if I cant manage this then the site will close, so I will do my very best to keep the information on this site up to date, but as you all know the new Amiga news is now happing daily when before, even last year you where lucky to hear one bit of major news a month, now its almost a weekly basics, I don’t think I would be able to keep up with that amount, so this site will not be a news site, there are two many of them around away and far better ones. So from now on this page will be updated once a month and cove a quick round up of AmigaNG related news. Information on the site is currently being updated, some pages like all pages relating to the AmigaDE wont be updated until the new owners (Kmos) announce there plans for this software. Other areas mainly the AmigaOS will have major updates as a lot has happened since these pages went online. Already many updates have been made, Links Page now has many more new links added, Program pages will replace software & games pages for both the AmigaOne and DE, Broken Pictures have been fixed, new Pictures have been uploaded, broken links have been fixed, new links have been added and more minor changes, you will notice more and more updates over the next few weeks. Every page of AmigaNG will be updated with something new or something changed, once I have gone though the whole site, I will have to see how much free time I have (as in April onwards I’m very busy again, such as life). Any don’t forget to keep the momentum going, long live Amiga & AmigaNG!

1/14/2005 coming soon
AMIGA IS BACK and so is AmigaNG, Major, MAJOR updates on the way!! D-DAY HAS ARRIVED!

7/23/2004 No, this site is not dead!
All I can say is sorry for the lack of any updates that I had promised over this year that never appeared and sorry for the lack of any updates to this site for almost 3 months. I have been really busy with work, events and other projects all on the go, so busy in fact that I haven’t been following the Amiga world as close as I’d like. This is particular annoying to me as the Amiga is at the stage of development that I have been waiting, like many Amiga owners for the past 8 years! Finally a true new Operating system for Amiga is almost out, that runs on new hardware and get away from the 680 range and custom chips they have been excellent pieces of hardware, I mean name any other computer hardware that has been supported like the Amiga has for such a long time. Hyperion have done an excellent job of getting the OS even to this stage, if only it all happed three or four years ago how much heather the Amiga world would have been. But I can already stat to see the slow come back, with AmigaONE’s having the ability to run Linux and in a way creating a new Linux community as the AmigaONE has greatly improved Linux support for the PPC range and the AmigaOne has already become the most successful ppc based computer next to apple! Already many programs are being ported to either run on the new beta OS4 or Linux that runs on the AmigaOne. The good thing is for the AmigaONE it can really only get better from here, with OS4 almost complete, many programs are getting updates to run on the Amiga (like PPaint, Photogenic, IBrower, Pagestrem, Papyrus Office etc) many 3d exiting games should also appear (quake 1 & 2, Sin, etc). I have also notice the huge increase in site supporting the new AmigaOs and AmigaOne, (many have been added to the links page) so its probably been the best time to be in the Amiga world for a long time. Unfortunately I still have very limited time on my hands and so for now AmigaNG, (which I believe is now the WORLDS longest running dedicated next generation site for the Amiga!) will not be update as much as it use to be (for now). I’m hoping that I will have time soon to dedicating to making the site back to its former glory! For now I have updated all pages relating to the AmigaOne with new information and details on the A1 Micro etc. I have made many other small updates to other pages like the links page so please explore. Until the next time.
