The most picture of the MCC anywhere on the net! click here. The AmigaMCC was going to be Gateways answer to a new Amiga, but after two years of little development, when it came time for Gateway to put serious money behind the project, they decided to cancel it. For more up to date details on the MCC I would recommend visiting the Amiga Interactive Site (Click Here), ps: this site has one the largest collection of AmigaMCC pictures so enjoy. System / Specs / AmigaOE / OE Screenshots / The End? / Links Is QNX leading the new Amiga into a new age of OS? or OE? With QNX helping in the new Amiga to have super Real time power, the new amiga is going to be top. And with it being now know as a Operating Environment it dose sound good stuff. There still many other areas that Amiga Inc need to look at. For example what is the system going to look like, what will it be called and what is it going to have in processing power and hard drive space. Well there is no confirmed facts yet of what it will look like and what it will have, how ever we do know that the development computer is based on a PC (F*%$ing!!). It will be powered on the high end of PC. The reason for using a PC is this is the only system that can come close to the new system power and speed and even then it won't be anything close to the real power of the Amigas MMC processor. The specs are all un confirmed but from what we know it will most likely have the following. More and likely when the World of Amiga show has passed, more information should come to light. For more go to the news page. New Amiga Specs The new Amiga OE was meant to be so much more advance than any other computer in the world. It had been developed with QNX, but then changed to Linux in the last few months. The AmigaSoft was still in development after the MCC was cancelled. It was to be able to run on top of every other OS out there. Below is some information and screenshots of the AmigaSoft designs.
Above shows what the AmigaSoft should of looked like! I hope they can do something as impressive with the new AmigaOS! Shown below is what it might of looked like on an Amiga MCC.
Is the AmigaSoft alive and well? AOL future seems to be the same as the AmigaObject was. AOL even said once that the Amiga could have a possible future in the new parnership that AOL had with Gateway. What this means is that, what ever the future OE for AOL could be what the AmigaSoft was meant to be, we still don't know. The New Amiga we all thought that it was going to happen. Amiga MCC was starting to become more and more real. With designs, cases, technology brief's and even an interview. Amiga (the company will be know as AmigaHQ from now on!) told us a lie right up to the end!! Every thing started to full apart when Jim Collains and Ted Hightmen left AmigaHQ! But in my view it was not AmigaHQ`s flute it was Gateways!! Gateway must of know that Amiga would need more money to get the computer successful! But then Gateway backed down from the Amiga MCC project and now AmigaHQ will only be making the new OS or OE! However none of the stuff AmigaHQ promised ever came out! So were back to just having updates for our old classic Amiga and no new hardware from AmigaHQ!
