Information The newly named project Amiga Anywhere, is a much simpler name than the Digital Environment (or DE for short), the Amiga Anywhere means any product lunched under it should be able to go on any device and is the main product that Amiga are developing based on the Tao Group Elate Os. The main aim for the Amiga Anywhere programs is to be completely system independent and that it can run on any type of hardware, any software that has been made on intent will then run on that hardware if the system requirement are good enough. The Amiga DE player launched already will run on the Operating System including Windows, Linux, QNX and Amiga OS 4.2+, and the Amiga Anywhere games will run on the DE player, devices like PDA`s, Mobile Phones, Set Top Box's will either have the software built into the devices and so you just download the games, from Amiga Anywhere site, or you will by a cartridge which will have the Amiga DE player (or something similar) with a few games ready to play on the devices that can expect the cartridge . The DE player is NOT an standalone OS, think of it like an Mp3 player, but rather than playing Mp3, this runs Amiga Anywhere games/software files. The Anywhere systems have been said that it will be fully merged into AmigaOS5 where a full OS will appear. So far the Amiga Anwhere section only has 67 titles, each of which aren't that powerful, most of the current title have been designed for low powered devices such as Mobile Phones. The PDA market has been a high priority for Amiga during 2001 and Gary Peake provided some guidelines on the PDA specifications on the AmiOpen mailing list: QVGA (240*320 Pixel) Software can be written to this specification in the Amiga SDK by creating a 16-bit 240*320 AVE window. This will provide a replica of the PDA environment, directing many of its developers to make small games/software. Amiga Anywhere is growing into other areas with its recent partnership with Nokia to support there Set Top Box systems they are moving into a bigger market. The Zico specification did provide a guideline for users and developers when building an Amiga DE system (hosted on another OS, such as Linux or Windows), how ever many of these spec are wrong now, as the Amiga Anywhere devices can run on much lower device and these specs where intend for a full blown computer to run the Amiga DE, but the plans changed the zico specification are now for the AmigaONE/ OS4.0 systems and not for the Amiga DE or Amiga Anywhere systems.The reaming original zico specification that still apply to the Amiga Anywhere system are as follows;
